French / Spanish speaking Junior Business Developer Since its founding, Kubota has placed considerable resources and investment to understanding and overcoming the agricultural challenges farmers face, by working closely with them in Japan and in other countries worldwide. Kubota is now moving forward in the Smart Agriculture sector, focusing on reducing labour costs and increasing the quality of production based automation and data based precision farming. We work on next generation of agtech solutions and invest in promising agtech start-ups with focus on specialty crops (fruits, vegetables & wine) as well as in hay & forage automation. In the food sector, we aim to go beyond our existing business domains focused on crop production to provide total solutions that support the food value chain, which encompasses the entire scope of agricultural production from purchasing to processing, sales, and consumption. Nowadays we are looking for entrepreneurs to validate business opportunities, be held accountable for timelines and deliverables. Your goal is to create momentum in your validation and ultimately launch a high-potential business idea within the agriculture sector. You will work in sparring with the Business Development Manager and General Manager/CTO of the Innovation Center Europe as well as with EU stakeholders. Job Description You work intensively to validate a problem/business hypothesis You will conduct interviews with industry stakeholders and farmers and gain access to experts from the Kubota Group network to gain further insights You will scout for potential tech partners among start-ups and find a possible solution to that problem (inside or outside of the company). Drive further commercial implementation and develop a partner and establish go-to-market model that will enable rapid scale-up Set priorities, targets for projects You think and act with a long-term business perspective in mind: Your ultimate goal is to launch a business case with Kubota Group. Your Profile Master’s degree, preferably in Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation or any other related field You have very strong analytical skills and demonstrable curiosity. You have at least 2 years of start-up experience or/and 2 years of professional experience in technology and/or agriculture sector Experience within agriculture sector is preferable Proven track record of bringing business ideas to life is preferable Experience in Customer Development Process is preferable Willingness to shape and build a market that does not yet exist Comfortable working both in person and remotely English as well as Spanish or French is a requirement.
