If so, lets talk. Your Role and Responsibilities Applying p2p protocols in Kubernetes IBM Cloud provides a wide range of services and applications to work with your data in a cloud native way. Scaling containers to a large set of nodes has several challenges, by default all worker nodes need to pull the image from a central registry. This can incur significant time. Novel approaches like stargz or estargz try to solve a part of this problem by allowing a container to run before the complete image has been retrieved. There are also solution that distributes image layers across neighbour nodes utilising p2p protocols. As part of this internship you’ll be working on combining those solution to evaluate how the time for pulling images and starting containers could be significantly reduced. You will be analysing possible security risks and also evaluating how this could be adopted within our services. You’ll be working as part of a local team which builds and operates a service as well as with the world wide development group working on IBMs public cloud platform. You’ll get a chance to gain deep knowledge in the agile and cloud native development process and continuous integration deployment into the public cloud. Interested?
